Goldilocks

Tried to do something a little more cartoony than I've done lately on the blog. I wanted to work on this longer, but must get to other work. Also, here's the new profile pic:

You're getting better by the day Sarah.
This is impressive.
There's some sort of lightness to your goldilocks, and a really subtle emotion to the girl below that wasn't there in your other drawings.

This is excellent work

I agree with Pascal about these last couple posts. All your stuff has been fantastic, but I think maybe now that you've found a painting style you're comfortable and confident with, that there's a new found freedom and vibrancy that is seeping into these latest posts. Congrats, you are on to something!

I was just gonna ask to see this bigger. :)
There was indeed a burst of growth here, no? Or at least a few discoveries.

Love the twinki shaped bears! Those expressions and poses are great! Also really like the profile pic. The movement in the hair is really nice!

I love it!!! (It sort of looks like Goldilocks and the Three Totoro Bears!) The painting has a wonderful storybook feel to it!

And the portrait is even lovelier!

Great stuff. I love Poppa Bear's expression. Your digital painting is some awsomnity that's for sure. There's like a whole library worth of stories on your site. Keep it up.

Yay! Thanks everyone! When I've tried to colour my sketches before, I felt like I always lost the spark of the original drawing. I think this way of painting is working so much better for me because the original sketch is still a large part of the finished piece :)

I love Pippi and the Egyptian girl!

I like the (as Mad Guru said) Twinkie shaped bears! Love the cartoony-ness. Also the self portrait is neat with a lot of mystique but quite intense. Could we see a smiley/cartoony/Yay kind of Sarah?

Thanks everyone again. I'm so glad the bears went over. I saw them in my mind before I got going more like half-pill shaped, but I like how they ended up better. It is kind of like a twinkie :)

And Mike you were right, Pippi was supposed to be Sgt. Rock. I keep trying and all my drawings of him keep looking all eighties comic-ish. Blah.

And Tony, maaaybe :) The last one I had up here was kind of that, but I don't think it really looked much like me in the end. I guess this one doesn't really either, but it does look like my nose just got bitten by a rambunctious kitten, which is pretty accurate these days :)

Really Great! Love the papa bear especially, and that look on Goldilock's face. Ha! Priceless.
