Kittens

I was watching The Aristocats a couple mornings ago and decided I should try drawing more cats. Some of these are my attempts to draw cats without reference, others are sketches of my two cats. Click on the image for a bigger version.

I've been working hard lately painting the artwork for my Flight 5 story. I'll be sure to post a sample of a finished page or panel when I'm done. Hopefully that will be in the next week or so.

Also, here's a quick drawing of my sister who is in Africa. I miss you Laura. :)

cats are like weird slinky's....they can change their shape so much. i like the way you captured that in your sketches.

hope laura is safe in africa!

wooo hoooooo
The cats look great.
You really nailed some cat-like expressions and slinky movements.
Hope all is well with you, and I can't wait to see your Flight stuff!

How funny - I saw a few minutes of The Aristocats on TV a few mornings ago .. I think Toon Disney .. right before school (sadly this caused me to forget to make lunch) and I drew my friend's cat today (rather unsuccessfully - she moves fast and I'm still trying to figure out how to capture animals quickly). Always makes me smile to see something new from you! :D
Why is your sister in Africa?

Yay! Thanks everyone! Jessie, my sister is in Africa to help teach sewing/have a post university adventure. Her trip blog is linked in my link list. :D

That's a great pic of your sister. And cats are evil, but evil is fun, and sometimes fuzzy, so you may as well draw it. Looking forward to seeing some of your Flight 5 stuff.

The piece you did of your sister is amazing. Good Job! I think your unique interpretation and clean execution make for a terrific picture. I never leave comments on blogs, but then again I rarely am moved this much by a work.

I really love this type of post, and also the draws seems like the old fashion in this cartoon world, you know what I mean.
