Miss Havisham and more...

Yay! Getting a post up! The top sketch reminded me of Miss Havisham, so I added the veil. I'm not a huge Dickens fan, but I am a huge Miss Havisham fan. She's crazy in all the best ways.

As for my graphic novel, below are colors from one of the opening sequences. I'll be posting more character designs soon.

I'm currently working on a font for the book. Anyone out there ever successfully create a font for comic purposes? Any tips? I found this interesting tutorial here.

LOVE the Miss Havisham. She's my credit card website password ;)

Those graphic novel colors are BLOWING MY MIND! Just awesome.
I can not wait to see those colors matched up with that great story.

And I agree with Mike that your book will rule the world, but I cannot condone ending the robot domination.;)

I'd say, even though I've created a font or two, my best advice on font creation is: http://www.amazon.com/Logo-Lettering-Bible-Leslie-Cabarga/dp/1581804369/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221784502&sr=8-1 <-- Get This Book! I got it some time back and it's been immensely helpful in a lot of ways. It's even improved my vector work.

Love Ms. Havisham and the baby!

awesome (as always)!!! your work is down right inspiring. i really enjoy the younger girl, and it's neat to see your stylizations applied to paper with a regular ol' rough graphite pencil, instead of the smoother, waxier colored ones.

i can't wait to play around with font personalizations for my thesis now!

I admire your work, and that's also the reason for wanting to ask you something.
I'm currently in my first year of Art-school studying to be an Illustrator. And there's this assignment we have, called heroes. We need to make a presentation about an illustrator you admire. Now as I said I admire your work and, it actually made me start thinking about art school.
The presentation needs to have information about your daile life, so that's all I really want to ask you, want do you do on a daily basis concerning your work and not- work related things?
Would you please leave me a comment on my own blog? Mereldegraaf.blogspot.com

Thanks in advance
Greets

Hey there again.
I just reread my assigment, and there are some other thing I would like to ask you. I've already asked you what you do on a day=to day basis, but how do you do that. I mean drawing offcourse, do you have your own little study , or do you draw on all available spaces, or is there a special place like in your garden ? Who are you working for currently ?
Some more shorts ; what's your dayrithm what are your worries and pleasures in your work, and when and how do you work.
Ok so sorry to take up your time, by actually asking you these questions and letting you read this email.
Hope to hear from you
Thanks
Greets
