The Wellington Division - The One... Maybe

New comic roughs up. Only six pages, a little scene. But its probably a good thing, because its been a crazy week.

So I guess some of my work has recently appeared on stumbleupon, and I've received a whole bunch of thoughtful emails. If you sent me one of those emails and I haven't replied to it yet, please know it's just been unusually busy here, and I really really appreciate the kind words. It makes my day to know people are reading my stories and enjoying them. Also, thank you to whoever stumbled on me in the first place. :)

Hi! New reader here, and I'm very curious as to whether you have The Wellington Division published or not. If so, I would buy it in a heartbeart!! If not please let me know if there ever will be a chance of it being published; I'd love to have a hard-copy. I'm not partial to buying comic books, manga, graphic novels, webcomics, etc...actually I'm so stingy with my money that I don't buy anything and just read them with the hopes of the material being free for the public. But something about your story really tugs at my heartstrings, and the way you present it is incredibly refreshing. Not overly dramatic with your characters, not predictable (in plot, as with other webcomics), smooth flow in your writing structure, well-placed captions, an evil overlord that everyone (readers included) is absolutely dying for him to die, a likable/unlikable protagonist who isn't particularly handsome (YES!) and is realistically materialistic/hedonstic/selfish, (but we see his character growth)...I mean, what else can I say? Actually I take that back I have 5 more pages of say, but I'll leave those for later. In any case, I'd buy The Wellington Division (not just to have a copy) but because I also ardently and sincerely wish to give you my support by buying your books. So please let me know if there is any way I can get a hold of your works! Thanks :)

(I will probably email you more about my adoration for The Wellington Division later, lol). Funny thing is, I first discovered you through your story Extraordinary on Stumble, and again there was something there in that story that hooked me in. The story was strangely nostalgic for me, and as it was a pretty good feeling reminiscent of childhood memories, I was compelled to see more of your works. The next one I read was The Very Special Hat, which caught me hook, line, and sinker. It was that refreshing quality of yours, which I find in all of your works (much to my delight). It's your defining quality for me, and I knew I had to read some of your larger works.

And since you already know how I feel about The Wellington Division, I'll conclude my commentary with a "Kudos to you" for your refreshing storylines, fantasmic art, and your brilliant, God-gifted mind :)

Wow! Thank you so much for your comment, Shuffleberry. It means a lot to know you are enjoying the story so much and giving it so much thought. Tearse was originally just a henchman for Viperal, but he was just so much fun to write about it got me wondering what the story would be like if it revolved around his decisions.

I have no plans to publish the Wellington Division right now, although I wish I could say I did! I would LOVE to finish it, it's just most of my time is spent watching my young kids and there are a lot of pages that need painting. To be honest, it's hard to know what to do with it as is, I'm not even sure it would read very clearly on a kindle or the like. Hmm...

Thank you again for the super nice comment. :)

Sarah

Just found your site via Reddit. Are any of your picture books available for purchase? Looking around your website, I can't see a shopping option.

Thank you Jon W. Honestly, I'm still hoping to color them. It's good motivation to know there is interest, though. :)

Hi Sarah -

I wanted to let you know how much I love the world you created in The Wellington Division. I am absolutely engrossed! It takes something special to be able to send people far, far away in their imaginations. I admire your artistic and story telling abilities so much. You are truly gifted. Please, please keep going on your graphic novel! I actually panicked when I reached the end, or rather, latest page, but exhaled a huge sigh of relief after discovering you update a new page every week. Yaaay!

My friend sent me a link to "Extraordinary" after she stumbled on it. I'm so glad she showed me your work. I'm an aspiring artist, and you give me so much inspiration. I'm happy that I can look forward to something so good every week! <3

Thank you so much RadioFlier and Dawn! :) The whole Wellington Division will definitely be posted here sooner or later. The rough artwork is complete, it's just a matter of me replacing the handwritten text with a more legible font. :D

Thanks Adam, Jannie and Lovatto ( and your artwork is lovely, by the way!) It seriously is so wonderful to know so many people are reading the WD. I'm pretty lousy at judging my own storytelling chops. Thanks for letting me know that you are enjoying it! :)

Hi!!! My name is Kincaid, and I sent you an email a little while ago... It's nice to hear that you must have recieved it! I was worried for a little while... I'd really like to talk to you at some point about the art world, especially that of graphic novels, because I'm having some trouble navigating through it, if you have some time (it sounds like you're pretty bogged down at the moment).
I'd like to echo the questions on purchasing your work. C'est très magnifique. J'adore votre art très, très, très beaucoup.

I also found your work through stumbleupon, I loved Extraordinary, and quickly got hooked on the Wellington Division. I had the same reaction as Dawn when I reached the end of your last post, and I started looking for an email where I could contact you to ask if you were still posting the novel. I've only started getting into graphic novels recently, and this is certainly one I would like to purchase if it became available. My laptop screen doesn't do justice to the wonderful images. And I love how the seens flow into each other! I'm very excited to read more of the WD, and I'm so happy I found your website!
