Cupid

Sketched this last night at writing group. I don't generally advocate cupid, because arrows are dangerous and children with arrows are... well... more dangerous, but it's for Toon Club's love week.

This is simply lovely, Sarah. The colors are so delicate, yet so vivid.

I like the idea of Cupid as sort of a "Lost Boys" age, rather than the fat little baby type. Very cool!

Although he looks serious, he does look as if could get into some really funny mischief with those arrows. Cupid stuff, I mean. :-)

Great stuff! You have a great clean effortless-looking style Sarah. I'm envious. ;-D

Cheers

awww, this has to be the saddest cupid i have ever seen, which is good, now he knows how the other end of the arrow feels.

<3 it

Sarah, in the spirit of archery safety, I would suggest putting the arrows in the quiver with the points down. Saves a lot of fingers that way. :) This piece is really nice.

Do you sketch on paper then scan? Or do you draw right into Corel Painter.

I have a Tablet PC, and I've yet to master drawing with a stylus.

I really like your work. For something you call a sketch, it looks to me like a fine piece of art!

Thanks everyone again! :)

Darren, I generally draw stuff on paper and scan it in. I'd love to try Alias Sketchbook pro though, I hear it makes drawing with the stylus far easier.

Thanks for the information. I like the sketches in blue you've just posted. It is nice to see some insight into the "before" sketch. It is inspiring to see, now to put it to work!
