Graphic Novel Characters (in Underpants)
Ha ha, no I'm not dead, I've just been busy animating for the cool people at ReelFX and also in the stressy/exciting situation of buying a house. Needless to say when I have a couple quiet moments I pretty much just want to collapse in front of the TV or pick up groceries so Stephen and I can eat something other than peanut butter sandwiches.
Anyway! Here's a couple drawings I did last week; the beginnings of an official model pack for my graphic novel. I figured since the character's costumes often obscure their body shapes, it would be best to draw them without costumes first. The first guy here is the main character in the book, the other two are a brother and sister he helps/hinders throughout the story.
I'll be back to regular updates soon! :)

Lovely characters sarah! They have so much appeal and when couple with your story tellin ability...perfection! til next post
i hear there are a lot of ringling graduates over there. i've actually been thinking about sending my portfolio there.
anyways congrats on the house!
That being said, I like your character design for this one.. can't wait to see more of them in full gear :)
Hope everything is well with you and Stephen!
Hope you find a nice house (I actually liked your old house as well, but I can imagine you guys want something for yourselfs)
Good luck, and I'll be checking in fromtime to time :D
These guys look great. I like how they all flow so well.
I can't wait to see this story come together in pictures.
And good luck on the house. I know that can be stressful.

Anyways - thanks for the comments on my last drawings (I've since updated and may update again after school .. my school had some drama performances today so I tried to draw my friends).
And yay on your house! Buying a house is always so exciting! :D
i have coffe and cookies!
It's cool to see the characters in their most natural state. By looking at the body types you can get a sense of their poise and how they will move. Good idea!
I think the girl is my fave. I like the lithe structure of her shoulders and torso.
It looks like you have a load on your plate. Good luck with the house and hope you can find time to recharge and rise above pb&j in the midst of the craziness.
Tom and Alex, I'm working on a commercial just for now :)
And Mel I mentioned you to Justin today and he said some really nice stuff about how crazy well you draw :)
