The Wellington Division - Nessa

And done! Thank you to everyone who voted for who I should draw. For those of you who may not know who Nessa is, or perhaps have forgotten her (she's only in the comic for a short while) she first appears in the Wellington Division in this sequence. She's a sweet, sometimes petulant, stubbornly nude mermaid, and is one of several characters who befriend Tyler in Emperor Viperal's private museum.

Since I've drawn my share of mermaids, I wanted to do something different with Nessa. I thought with all her flowing hair, it would be interesting to attempt something Mucha-esque.

I would like to draw one of the male WD characters next (because I've been drawing so many girls lately), but again, I'd love your input and will draw whichever character has the most votes. So please let me know which boy, or guy, or man, or evil villain (or talking dog?) you would most like to see. :)

Oh wow, you went all out on this! I love how even the font matches her character. Gorgeous!

As for male characters, I vote for either Dennilth or Jase. (Is Dennilth male?)

Hey thanks everyone! And yes, Dennilth's a boy. :)

This is amazing, I love that Art Nouveau touch.

Ok, here the male characters I'd like to see in a finished painting:
- Squirrel Kid "Nimit" from sequence 21, maybe with a squirrel. (You wanted random, right?)
- Jase in a pose suggesting his new-found ego as the saviour of all sprites
- It's a little embarrassing, but I don't know how that central young sprite is called. You know, the one there from sequence one? Is this a deliberate style choice not to mention his name, or did I simply not find it? Anyway: that guy.

Thank you so much for this story. Every single week I look forward to these sequences and sit on the edge of my seat while reading them.

Thanks Andra! Yes! Nimit! Awesome suggestion! :)

And the young character in the first scene is Kyte. He appears in the next sequence I'll be posting, too. :)

You read my mind with the talking dog. I vote Colo for your male character. By the way this picture is very cool and well done.

Thanks Erin! Colo would be fun to draw too. :)

beautiful, I esp. like how you designed her ears. One thing that I can't figure out though, is her right hand- I keep trying to figure out if the angle you gave it is anatomically correct. I can't turn my hand like that, so i'm wondering if you purposefully did that or no. I hate when people critique my work without me asking, so I hope you are not offended by my question.

Hey AndreaMichelle! No offence taken. My hand does it, with my arms reaching forward. The biggest cheat with the hands however, is that they should be larger, with her reaching forward through the water and considering her tail gets so small. However then it seemed to me that her hands dominated the whole drawing, so I took some liberties. :)
Beautiful work! Very mucha :)
