I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! Although I didn´t no how it could be I had the feeling the he would be the ONE, a sprite, after you revealing that sprites could look like mants with Kalla. Now he will deliver his people... much like the story of Moses.
VERY GOOD!!!! GOOD TWIST!

Yay! I'm glad you all are surprised!

This news means something else for Tearse, something mentioned very off-hand earlier in the story, I wonder if anyone will catch it... :)

We will know that his father is some character already mentioned??

Nope. Although that would be interesting... :D

I was about ready to scour the story looking for this "something mentioned very off-hand." But then it just popped into my head out of nowhere. I could be wrong. But I'd hate to give it away if I'm right. I'll just say that if someone wants to narrow their search down to find what I think it is, stick to part 5 ("Mistakes"), when Tearse is "searching both high and low" for Tyler. Hopefully that's appropriately vague. ;)

Either way, this is my first time commenting here and I'd like to thank you in general for sharing your art and this story with us. I think it really sets a new bar for me for graphic novels/web comics.

As always, can't wait 'til next week!

Ah that's what Kalla wanted to tell him before she was executed, right? I had a clue when I read it...but anyhow it's surprising.

Whoa and I really love that story and always can't wait til monday :)
Such great work

Thank you very much, Becky. And yes, that is the part I was thinking of. :) For anyone else who is curious, it's the first page of sequence 40.

And thank you also, Alina. Challa definitely was trying to talk to Tearse about his past, but realized he was not ready to hear the truth. I also think she was disappointed in what sort of person he'd become.

I should've known...I always had this sneaky suspicion that there was something different about him.
People say we often fight the very thing that we are and that couldn't be more true for Tearse. You really have a gift for making characters so very human, very real.

Please keep making these awesome comics!

Dear Sarah Mensinga. I was using stumbleupon.com to research an art project I was thinking about doing when I came across your page. I was blown away. I haven't been able to go to a computer without somehow ending up back on your page. I have to say that my favorite story is Fish. I even printed out a page to show my art teacher. I wanted to tell you that your art is so inspiring and ... well... lets just say I almost felt like I was going to start crying when I wrote this. When I saw the Wellington Division I felt cheated because most people usually only get a couple crazy amazing talents, and you obviously a few cups more than your fair share! I aspire to reach your level of abilities and your my new HERO!!!

P.S. Is there a name for your kind of art, because no one (not even my art teacher) can seem to identify it!

Thanks, Khazm. I never really thought about Tearse that way, but how true.

Thank you also, love lovely, and I'm sorry that I distracted you, Anonymous. :)

Thank you very much, Craig!

And AmberWriter, thank you for writing such a very kind, complimentary comment. I'm so glad you liked Fish, it was fun limiting myself to only four pages for that story and still trying to make it have some kind of plot. :) As for type of art... comic/illustration maybe? My background is in 2D animation and traditional visual arts, and they've kind of blended together along the way.

And thank you also, Dominic. :)

Oh wow! Just wow! Poor (I'm not posting the name so there is no spoiler)!

Sarah, your story is amazing! And your art is lovely, you are very, very talented, but your story is what has me glued to your site. Please, please keep updating. I would cry if you abandoned this work.

Thank you so much, Bumble Bunny. No worries, the WD roughs are already drawn and written, I just need to finish posting them. :)

Just realised this also means Haylin and Tearse don't share any blood at all.

Now, let's see how he fares against the Emperor...
