Naked Mermaid!

I apologize for the nudity, but mermaids don't like wearing clothes. Used two brushes for this, which I think I like. A big fat flat one for the messy over all and then a softer oil to stick in some details. Friday I felt like all my painting practice last week hadn't paid off, but this came together more easily than I expected in about an hour, so yay!

Look at me, drawing Halloween stuff all up to Halloween and then on actual Halloween I drop the ball :)

I love it! Great flowing motion in the hair and tail... gives the impression of swirling water... which I'm sure was the intent. Really nice, Sarah.

I think it fits for Halloween. There's something a little scary and "other wordly" about Miss Mermaid...as there should be. Disney made Mermaids cute and bubbly....Sarah's reclaiming their ancient, more spooky territory.

Really cool. I love the brushwork, and the way her hair blends back into the water. Excellent colors too.

Yeah, don't sweat the Halloween. My best friend's daughter was a mermaid last year. She had to get carried around a lot.

I hate NUDITY IN MERMAIDS BECAUSE IT IS SO SEXIST.

i HAVE YET TO SEE ANYONE DRAW A MERMAN WITH his balls HANGING OUT. That would be gross by most peoples standards.

so why is a mmmaid with her tits hanging about not sexist?
