Delusions of Grandeur

This was going to be for Toon Club, but then I felt it was too messy and too last minute. I like all the weird colours though :)

I managed to make a couple little blog changes yesterday too, like finally getting a banner up (there was much tearing out of hair trying to figure that out) and also putting together some pages for current and past little blog stories. This way when I post the next page of a story, if you are not sure what's going on you don't have to slog through all the old posts to find out.

Love it! Han and Chewey are the best.

It's also nice to see your stories together too. The Dragon Girl story has a nice format that's more apparent seeing one spread after another. Looks great.

This is sweet, you should totally post it! Welcome to Toon Club by the way.

When Adrian told me he invited you, I went to your blog. You must have been trying to update the banner then, because every time I went to a different page, there was this banner in a different place. Now I know why!

Funny.

I think the looseness adds to the personality of this piece. The color is fun.

Your spring turned out AWESOME!!! ( Like I knew it would )

I've been quietly coming to your blog for some time and greatly enjoying what I see. Today I've decided to stop being a lurker only and say hi. We have some mutual friends and they are what brought me here originally. I'll try and comment more in the future when I have something to say more than general praise.

Han and Chewie rock! Great site Sarah, I really love what you're doing with the dragon girl idea-- will that be a children's book some day (just curious)? Oh, and welcome to Toon Club!

hey, you know. give this blog a white BG and change your link colors and it'll blend right into your site...

(a hair pulling suggestion)

I agree with Joe... you should definitely post this at Toon Club. I love it. The colors are great! Nice choice for Star Wars, too. These two are the coolest.

Sarah, you should definitely post this on Toon Club! It's forty kinds of awesome. Great work. I can't look at Chewbacca with his mouth open like that and not make the wookie growl.

May the Force be with you.

I love the "weird" colors!
This is great...for some reason the color combo reminds me of old 1970's illos...

Good stuff! :)

I probably wouldn't have even noticed the "weirdness" of the colors if you hadn't pointed them out. It just looks like they're in a bar (or a cantina?) with funky lighting.

Really cool pic of a really cool subject.

Sorry, forgot to mention in my last comment that Sarah's Sketches is featured on my Two Links blog this time.

Thanks to everyone for the really kind and encouraging comments. I know I don't often have the chance to respond as often as I'd like, but I really appreciate them.

Thanks also Joe and Ken for the kind welcome to Toon Club! Joe, ha ha, yeah, I kept trying to get that banner to appear up top and it kept being stubborn and showing up elsewhere. Gaah!

And Ken, I'm not sure what will happen with Dragon Girl. I'd love to try and get it published as a children's book. I plan to do a proper nicely painted full colour mock up of one of the illustrations soon so I have something to send out to publishers, but I know it's a hard market to break into :)

Tom Kidd, thanks for saying hi, I'm curious to know who our mutual friends are!

And Mike, true about the layout... hmmm. I'm thinking of painting a prettier banner, but it took me so long to just get this 'temporary' one up, maybe I should just adjust the colours :)

And thanks so much Tyson for the link on Two Links. Thank you also for the really kind write up :)

WAHAHAHA!! Very, very cool pic Sarah!
Han is great!

I sure wouldn't say too messy. Whenever you get that good a Harrison Ford image, it has to be submitted.

Great colors too. I know I gravitate towards anything Star Wars, but it is genuinely interesting and admirable. I would hang this image up on my wall.

hello. I am very impressed with your talent. Also an artist and author, I'm branching out my styles, and I have an amazing sci fi fantasy idea that I think you could work wonders on. Surely someone with your abilities is busy, but you never know. This idea is solid. I don't want to leave much about it here, but check my blog, and if it seems I have talent and you are curious, email me at

my blog is here, though not comic stuff at all really:

thanks for your time and i would love to see my characters wearing your ink.

This is almost perfect for Wicket: there's a line in Defying Gravity that says "You're having delusions of grandeur!" Plus the two main characters are characterized by pink and green, respectively.

Though I'm not sure how Wicked would fit with Star Wars. XD
